Special project Equipment for the Surgical Center

Shortly before our mission, the three containers containing the equipment for the surgical center, as well as additional components for optimizing the solar system and the hospital’s wiring, arrived. Upon our arrival in Bembéréké, a team of electricians from the Liweitari training center (Natitingou, Benin) was already busy digging the trenches for the new, heavier-gauge underground cable. Together with our technician Uwe Buchwitz, we were able to complete all the work during our two-week stay, so that the solar system can now operate at full capacity and the hospital’s power supply is much more stable.

We have already begun using the new anesthesia machine during surgeries, and starting in early April, the remaining equipment will be cataloged, labeled, and then set up. We would like to once again express our thankfullness to the generous donors who made this possible.
