From 20.09.-04.10.2024 we carried out our 3rd outreach in Oshakati/Namibia. This time it was very well prepared, so that we had two operating theaters available for these two weeks and were able to perform 76 operations on 72 patients together with our Namibian colleagues. Our team included Shakuntala Negihal, anesthesiologist, Raymund Ho, pediatric surgeon, as well as Marina and Hartwig Sauter, supported by medical student Lisa Retterath. We are pleased with the excellent cooperation with the Intermedite Hospital Oshakati and the entire staff there. We were particularly encouraged by the fact that several patients from the previous mission underwent planned or necessary follow-up operations and that we were also able to send patients to the central hospital in Windhoek for further treatment thanks to the cooperation with the pediatric surgery department there.
